New Stage Curtain fund raising project

Subject: Support for Stage Curtains project

Hi everyone

I am applying for a Councillor's grant from Hampshire County Council (Mark Cooper) and a Councillor's grant from Test Valley Borough Council towards the cost of new stage curtains.

As you know, we have recently had our main hall redecorated, but the curtains are very old (only the 2nd pair since the hall was built in 1986, the original curtains were second-hand). The curtains now no longer comply with fire safety standards and following a recent fire risk assessment by a qualified fire risk assessor it was required that they are removed/treated or replaced. There is not a great difference in cost between cleaning and retreating the old curtains and replacing them, so we have decided to replace them.

New stage curtains would also add greatly to the refreshed look of the hall which we promote on our website so this might encourage further bookings.

I need to apply for the grants asap as the deadline for the grants are very soon.
